“Webshops overcharge” according to the Dutch consumer organization that just launched a report. The issue is that the shipment costs are added afterwards, confusing consumers. What can we do about that? Admit that it might be confusing. Communicate it more honestly from beginning to end. Or show a degrading amount you have to pay on top of the bought articles: the more you order, the less or nill you pay for shipment.
And why not say before ordering: if you buy this product extra, you get shipment for free. Everybody happy. Don’t defend, be intelligent.
